How to Lead in Our “New Normal”

Covid-19 has brought on unprecedented global economic uncertainty and social struggle. People are stressed over finances, job security, health, safety and restrictions to their personal freedom. But Covid-19 has also brought an unprecedented focus on caring — not just for those who are suffering physically, but for those who are understandably mentally and emotionally rattled by the turn this year has taken.
Our “new normal” requires that we push ourselves as leaders to be more empathetic, flexible and relatable. It starts with gaining a better understanding of the challenges employees are facing and using that data to make changes to benefit employee well-being and, in turn, the long-term health of our organizations.
